Before entering competitions, club members might like to read the advice on competitions and judging produced by the Glasgow District Photographic Union (GDPU). COMPETITION RULES

1. Members are required to hand in submissions to the Competition Secretary at least three weeks prior to the competition date. Handing-in nights are marked on the syllabus.

2. Members may submit a maximum of three digital (projected) images and three prints.

3. Prints may be of any size and must be mounted on 20''x16'' mount. Maximum thickness of mount is 1/8th''

Prints must, on the reverse of the mount, be titled and include the author's club membership number.

Digital images to be submitted on CD-R with Author's name and competition entered clearly marked on the CD.

Mode:- 8 Bits RGB Colour or Greyscale, File Format jpeg or tiff (no compression)

Image Size:- 1400 pixels horizontal, 1050 pixels vertical

Images should be numbered 01,02 and 03 etc, (as they appear on the entry form) followed by_and the title (maximum of 15 characters with no spaces) followed by your author number. Example, the file name for the 1st image, "Misty Loch Ard" from an author with the number 12 would be 01_mistylochard12

4. A completed entry form must accompany each submission and the titles must be entered in order of preference, as it may be necessary to limit the entries in a competition

5. Any print or image entered in an "In-Club" competition is ineligible for ANY future "In-Club" competition except the Annual Competition of that season.

6. Any print or image entered in any Annual Competition is ineligible for any future "In-Club" competition.

7. The same image (or one so similar as to be indistinguishable) must not be entered in both print and digital image competitions on the same evening.

8. Members entering club competitions must make their work available to the club for entry to external competitions and must not permit their work to be used by any other club for this purpose.

9. Copyright and content of every photograph entered must be owned by the member.

10. The Competition Secretary has the right to refuse entries not complying with the above rules.

GENERAL RULES

1) Rules regarding the use of the Darkroom and the hiring of equipment are displayed on the notice-board and must be observed. Further information can be obtained from the Committee.

2) A copy of the Club Constitution is displayed on the notice-board.
